British Columbia Lottery Corporation is gearing up to offer online casino games. A proven fact that online casinos generate millions of dollars, the British Columbia Corporation don’t wish to ‘miss the bus’ and are striving to have their online casino operations up and running by March 2010.

The move however is being debated, since the PlayNow website which is primarily owned by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation has announced plans to boost the weekly play limit to $10,000 from $120. This is clearly indicative of their research strategy being carried out, prior to launching online casino games, while the objective to increase the limit was to permit players to fix their own limits and take onus for their choices, Dr. Campbell commented that this may have repercussions on online gamblers playing in isolation.
In their endeavor to keep their resources and money within the country and avoid it going offshore, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation have taken it on themselves to be instrumental in the country’s economy and to increase the flow of revenue into the country.

They have a plan of offering betting in blackjack, betting in poker, betting roulette and other casino games in North America. Though internet online casino gambling has been claimed to be illegal by the enforcement of the UIGEA in 2006, but the efforts of Barney Frank to legalize internet gambling in the US is being discussed, however, this would not be implemented before the British Columbia Lottery Corporation have made their presence in the USA.
