With four more congressmen joining the co-sponsor club in support of regulating internet gambling, Barney Frank and his Financial Services Committee could not be more optimistic about their mission to regulate gambling and overturn the UIGEA. The bill is likely to be presented in the near future and during this waiting period, many co-sponsors are supporting the recommendation to regulate online casinos and gambling sites.
The list of co-sponsors has substantially gone up to 58 who are in support of the proposed gaming legislation, of which the latest eminent additions are Representatives Lynn Woolsey of California, William Clay of Missouri, Adam Schiff of California, and Christopher Murphy of Connecticut.
The bill has been pending submission to the Congress right from July of this year, and then was moved to September and later postponed to December, but based on the discussions that Barney Frank and his committee have been having in the recent past, they are hopeful that this would be presented in the Fall of the new year, and will be favorably viewed by the Congress.
However, if this bill has to find favor with the authorities, Barney Frank and his Financial Services Committee would have to earn the sponsorship of many more fellow congressmen including republicans to substantiate the proposition, to prove their efforts worthwhile. Barney and his committee are endeavoring to keep at it constantly until the bill gets presented in early 2010. They are hopeful that by then they would have obtained all the support and recommendation required to successfully put forth their proposition, to regulate online casinos for a bet US casino sites.
